Monika Dziamka, Writer + Editor
ABOUT

Hello! I’m a freelance writer and editor based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I’ve served as the editorial director for the Museum of New Mexico Press, a public affairs specialist for the City of Albuquerque, and the nonfiction genre editor of Qu, the literary magazine at Queens University of Charlotte, NC, where in 2019 I earned my MFA in creative writing. I also have a Master’s from the Columbia Publishing Course and a BA in journalism from the University of New Mexico.

From 2012 through 2017, I worked as a project editor for Cognella, Inc., an academic publishing company based in San Diego. I partnered with a diverse range of authors to help bring more than two hundred university-level books to publication. Just a few of the textbook topics I worked on include the relationship between art and architecture; modern Iranian philosophy; hip-hop in Filipinx culture; environmental ethics and policy; and astronomy.
I’ve also worked for The Daily Beast, InStyle, jewelry designer Paige Novick, and women’s apparel designer Jodi Arnold. See more about my background here.
As much as I love writing, I find great joy in helping others reach their publishing goals. I collaborate with textbook authors as well as sci-fi writers, novelists, students, and others in need of developmental editing, copy editing, proofreading, ghostwriting, marketing copy, and more.
Can I help you get started on, continue, or complete a project? I look forward to hearing from you! Please contact me here for more information.
